Westmorland & Furness Best Start Family Hub

The Best Start Family Hubs are welcoming local spaces that offer free advice, activities, and support for families in Westmorland and Furness from pregnancy until children turn 19, or 25 for those with special educational needs and disabilities.

What the Hubs Provide

The hubs bring different services together in one place to make getting help easy. You do not need an official referral to visit. You can just walk in and talk to the team. [1, 2]

Services and activities include:

Parenting Support: Help with child development, behavior, and family relationships.

Drop-In Sessions: Safe spaces for antenatal groups, play, and community connection.

Health and Wellbeing: Guidance on keeping children happy, healthy, and safe.

Online Learning Zone: Digital workshops and free courses you can complete at home.

Who Can Use Them

Expectant parents preparing for a new baby.

Families and caregivers with children and teenagers aged 0 to 19.

Young adults up to age 25 who have special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
